Monteverdi's MARIAN VESPERS

Description

Monteverdi's Marian Vespers is a major work by the Italian master composer from 1610. The work is traditionally structured as a vespers for the Virgin Mary, but musically speaking Monteverdi's vespers is far from traditional with its colourful style. In addition to the choir Trinitatis Kantori, an orchestra of handpicked musicians on original baroque instruments takes part, as well as a team of soloists specialising in baroque music. The work features both double choir and double orchestra, all under the direction of conductor Søren Christian Vestergaard.
