Description
NB - the concert venue may change - Big emotions for two pianos and human voices Brahms' Requiem is not a mass for the dead, but a deeply human embrace of the living. Here we are met by music that does not preach, but comforts - that lifts without hiding the pain. The voices grow forth as one great human pulse: from the choir's collective sigh to the soloists' intimate confessions. Each movement opens a new space where grief and hope stand side by side, equally genuine, equally necessary. And in the midst of it all we stand ourselves as listeners, enveloped by the warm hands of the sound. Brahms shows us that the greatest courage is to feel - and that comfort arises when human voices are carried together. When the music fades, it is not the darkness but the light that remains. Marianne Heuer: soprano William Jønch Pedersen: baritone Emil Gryesten and Maria Eshpai: piano Filharmonisk kor conducted by Michael Bojesen And others.
