When the Town Hall clock has struck the new year, the countdown to the year's New Year's concert begins at the same moment. In 2027 the audience can look forward to a festive, colourful and good-humoured one of its kind, when Ensemble Storstrøm, together with two young shooting stars of the Danish opera stage, welcomes the new year. The baritone Asmus Hanke Frederiksen and the soprano Emilie Haaning Christensen have both made a strong mark on the classical music scene. Asmus Hanke Frederiksen has already sung with several of the country's symphony orchestras and in 2024 received the Léonie Sonning Talent Prize, while Emilie Haaning Christensen, with her Nordic sound and international experience, has impressed both on the concert stage and in the world of opera. The concert offers emotional arias, festive overtures and familiar New Year classics, where the audience can both lean back and be swept along by the warmth and festive mood of the music. As tradition demands, the concert culminates with bubbling New Year atmosphere and music that sends the audience out into the new year with smiles, lightness and renewed energy.
