Faaborg Musikforening is the oldest existing music society in Denmark. The society was founded in 1847. We organise
concerts and other music events in Faaborg. The picture on this page was painted by Peter Hansen in 1892 and is called "New Year's Ball in a Provincial Town". The provincial town is Faaborg, and the painting depicts the annual New Year's ball, for which the music society, among others, had arranged a concert. Afterwards there was dancing. The painting hangs in Faaborg Museum.

Membership of Faaborg Musikforening costs 150 kr. per season. There are many advantages to being a member of the music society:
Save 40-60 kr. per ticket (only one member ticket per membership per event).
