Ensemble Storstrøm works innovatively, pushing boundaries and in a very versatile way. Partly in terms of genre and repertoire, partly in terms of music-drama projects and partly in terms of commitment to outreach - the last not least aimed at children and young people. The ensemble almost always works without a conductor and has therefore, over the many years, built up a strong and highly competent chamber music culture which makes possible thoroughly worked-out interpretations of even extremely demanding works. The result is most often strong and very present experiences for the audience. The association of an artistic adviser is essential to the ensemble and has been for many years. This can be a composer, musician, theorist, conductor or something else entirely. The important thing is that the person knows how to inspire the ensemble, and not least the ensemble's programme committee, to ceaselessly seek new paths and refine those already trodden. At least as important is the ensemble's opportunity to seek continuous collaboration with qualified guests - either as members of the ensemble on instruments the ensemble does not itself have, or as soloists in specific projects. The ensemble also has great success in attaching strong personalities to its work on outreach to children and young people.
