Den Jyske Opera
Den Jyske Opera / Danish National Opera is Denmark's national touring opera company. We are supported by the Ministry of Culture and Aarhus Municipality, are based in Aarhus and tour all over Denmark with both traditional and innovative opera for all ages and for both opera lovers and opera virgins.
Since 1947 Den Jyske Opera has worked passionately and professionally to create and stage opera performances at the highest international level.
Den Jyske Opera is Denmark's largest touring opera company and has 60 employees spread across artistic staff - including a full-time choir, administration, a technical department and a tailoring workshop. On tour we visit small and large venues and also Det Kongelige Teater in Copenhagen, and we collaborate around Denmark with the five regional orchestras: Aarhus Symfoniorkester, Aalborg Symfoniorkester, Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester, Odense Symfoniorkester and Copenhagen Phil.
