New Year's Concert

Description

The lightness and elegance of the soprano are united with the brilliant sound of the piccolo trumpet when Lykke Appelon and Henrik Rønnow, together with organist Vibeke Astner, play this year's New Year's concert. ”A unique work that demands virtuosity from the soprano and trumpet soloists and bears witness to overflowing jubilation and radiant beauty”. This is how the Bach scholar Klaus Hofmann has described Bach's Cantata No. 51 ”Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen”, and the cantata, and the concert's main work, could not be described more precisely. The soprano Lykke Appelon made her debut from the soloist class at Det Jyske Musik-konservatorium in 2023. She embraces a versatile repertoire and moves with great authenticity between the different styles. In 2026 she was appointed to the chorus of Den Jyske Opera and sings the role of Frasquita in Den Jyske Opera's production of Carmen in the autumn of 2026. Trumpeter Henrik Rønnow trained at Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium and in 1989 was appointed trumpeter with Slesvigske Musikkorps in Haderslev. After 34 years, Henrik Rønnow chose in 2024 to stop as a musician in the Armed Forces in order to devote himself to his concert activities and work as a freelance musician. Organist Vibeke Astner trained as a concert soloist at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and as organist and cantor at Det Kgl. Danske Musikkonservatorium. She is organist at Skt. Lukas Kirke in Aarhus and teaches at Det Jyske Musik-konservatorium. Lykke Appelon, soprano Henrik Rønnow, trumpet Vibeke Astner, organ After the concert, the church is host to a glass of bubbles.
