Festive Concert - Soprano, Trumpet and Organ

Description

This year we celebrate Candlemas with a sparkling concert that praises God and tunes the mind to the return of the light. At the heart of the concert's programme are Bach's cantata "Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen" and Purcell's "Sound the trumpet". There is also music by Vivaldi and Händel and several Italian and English composers from the Baroque era. Our ears are treated to the young soprano Lykke Appelon, who graduated from the soloist class in 2023. She is backed by Henrik Rønnow, who has been a trumpeter with Slesvigske Musikkorps for 34 years. At the organ sits Vibeke Astner, who is a trained concert soloist from Amsterdam and teaches the next generation of organists at Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium alongside being organist at the great Sankt Lukas Kirke in Aarhus. Free admission. Programme: Bach: Cantata "Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen" Purcell: "Sound the trumpet"
