Bornholms Musikforening
Bornholms Musikforening has a long tradition and is one of the oldest music societies in Denmark. 2021 is the society's 120th season.
The society arranges classical chamber music and occasionally orchestral concerts of high quality with professional musicians, mostly from Denmark but also from abroad. The concerts are held mainly in the churches of Bornholm, preferably in Aa Kirke, where the society has a fine concert grand piano together with Bornholms Musikfestival and the church, but also in other places on the island, for example Svanekegården or Kulturskolen. The concerts take place in the off-season, i.e. from January to June and from September to December. In this way the society supplements the series of classical concerts that take place under the auspices of Bornholms Musikfestival in July and August. The society has a fruitful collaboration with Bornholms Musikfestival (Bornholms Musikfestival), with the cultural institution Svanekegården (Svanekegården) and with Skt. Nicolai Kirke's (Skt. Nicolai Kirkes) cycle of summer concerts. This collaboration manifests itself, for example, in a joint Facebook page "Klassisk på Bornholm (Klassisk på Bornholm)", where concerts from these and other players on the music scene are announced and discussed. The concerts are also published on Bornholm.info (bornholm.info, Destination Bornholm's website), on Kultunaut (Kultunaut), in advertisements in the daily press and, as far as possible, in the media.
