DR SymfoniOrkestret opens the week with a programme that makes great demands on both orchestra and soloist. Lutosławski's Concerto for Orchestra requires an ensemble that can balance individuality and cohesion, while Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 2 contains both chamber-music intimacy and symphonic breadth. The German pianist Martin Helmchen is soloist, and the young British conductor Adam Hickox takes the podium.

Concerto Copenhagen and the pianist Kristian Bezuidenhout meet in a programme of Mozart, Haydn, Gerson and Beethoven. Bezuidenhout has previously earned rave reviews for his collaboration with the orchestra, and the programme ranges from Mozart's overture to Idomeneo to Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4. The concert takes place at DR Koncerthuset.

Copenhagen Phil performs Mozart's Requiem in Københavns Domkirke. The work is supplemented by Hindemith's Trauermusik and Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus. Københavns Drengekor takes part together with Zealand boys' and men's choirs.

The violinist Alexandra Conunova plays with Copenhagen Phil at Slagelse Teater in a programme of Stravinsky's Dumbarton Oaks, Bach's Violin Concerto No. 2 and Haydn's Symphony No. 49. Conunova acts as both soloist and playing conductor – a practice that gives the concert a chamber-music nerve.

In Odense, Odense Symfoniorkester plays Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2 and excerpts from Smetana's Má Vlast with the conductor Nicolò Foron. Aarhus Symfoniorkester offers Mendelssohn's Sinfonia No. 10, Gade's Violin Concerto and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 with Zsolt-Tihamér Visontay as both soloist and conductor.

Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester performs Elgar's Serenade for Strings, Mozart's Symphony No. 40 and Berlioz's Harold in Italy with the viola soloist Sara Ferrández and the conductor Gemma New.

In Roskilde Domkirke, the Raphaëlis project launches a concert series exploring the town's musical cultural history. Concerto Copenhagen and the cathedral organist Bine Bryndorf take part with music from the 1600s and 1700s.

At Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium, Thomas Dausgaard conducts the conservatoire's orchestra and choir in Carl Nielsen's Symphony No. 5, Fynsk Forår and the Flute Concerto.

Ensemble MidtVest plays Schubert's Octet and Mozart's Quintet for piano and winds in an arrangement by Jean Françaix in Holstebro.

The week offers symphonic breadth from Copenhagen to South Jutland, chamber music and choral music in church spaces.
