The vision
Live Klassisk was created by two passionate young classical musicians from Denmark and Norway, Erik Danciu and Daniel Lyngstad.
Their vision is "to make classical music more accessible and the concerts, festivals, musicians and ensembles more visible - and audible - to everyone."
In collaboration with numerous industry players, musicians and organisers, they have created an easily accessible entrance to the classical music world.
The project has been realised with generous support from Kulturrådet Norge, Sparebankstiftelsen, Bergenstiftelsen and Augustinus Fonden.
About the founders of Live Klassisk:
Erik Danciu (DK) - Violinist and founder of Live Klassisk
Erik first got the idea for Live Klassisk back in 2014 when he was studying violin at the Cleveland Institute of Music in the USA. When he continued his studies in Vienna in 2017, he spent hours trying to find his bearings among the thousands of classical concerts in the city. This made the need for a unifying and easily accessible platform for classical music very clear. "If it is so difficult for someone trained in classical music to navigate the jungle of classical concerts, how on earth is anyone without much experience of classical music supposed to have any chance of finding their way around?"
In addition to running Live Klassisk, Erik works regularly as a violinist in DR SymfoniOrkestret, plays folk music and gypsy jazz, composes electronic music in the art group REX and runs a small physical startup KIRE TREE.
Daniel Lyngstad (NO) - violinist and founder of Live Klassisk
In 2019 Daniel became involved in Live Klassisk and used his broad experience from the cultural field to get the project realised. An important motivation in Daniel's musical work has been to make classical music accessible to a broader part of the population. Helping to develop Live Klassisk therefore became a natural step.
As day-to-day manager of the festival Interpuls, with production experience from a number of festivals and cultural events and active work as a violinist, he has broad knowledge of the classical music scene.
Alongside running Live Klassisk, Daniel is employed as 1st violinist in the Opera Orchestra at Den Norske Opera & Ballett.
