Karens Minde Kulturhus

Karens Minde is a nature area in Københavns Sydhavn close to Valbyparken. At the centre of the area lies Karens Minde Kulturhus, built 1879-1914 as an institution for the intellectually disabled. In 1980 Københavns Kommune took over the area and converted the building into a cultural centre and library. Behind the Kulturhus lies Børnenes Dyremark, a facility for children and young people where they can look after and cuddle rabbits, horses and hens. The Dyremark also owns goats, sheep, two alpacas and a llama, which all carry out nature management on Sydhavnstippen in collaboration with Grøn Agenda Sydhavn.
