Rytterskolen, Herstedvester Kirke

The old Rytterskole (cavalry school) from 1722 is today the parish house of Herstedvester kirke. We have just celebrated its 300th anniversary. Thank you to everyone who took part with speeches and contributions for the Rytterskole's 300th birthday. Thank you to everyone who took part and made the day a celebration. The Rytterskole in Herstedvester Landsby was built on the orders of King Frederik 4. His purpose in building a total of 241 rytterskoler across the country was to teach children to read, so that they could become good Christians.
