Launch Concert: Klangen fra Tørkhuset

Description

Experience the launch concert for the new recording of Paul Okkenhaug's music. The concert marks the release of a new recording of Paul Okkenhaug's orchestral works. Paul Okkenhaug (1908–1975) is particularly known for his magnificent music for Spelet om Heilag Olav at Stiklestad. This evening the audience will hear both the play music and other gems from his orchestral output. The music is marked by Trøndelag roots, strong melodies and a distinctive musical language that still moves us. On stage are Trondheim Symfoniorkester conducted by Ingar Bergby, together with soprano Eir Inderhaug, baritone Kjetil Støa and Olsokkoret. The title of the concert, Klangen fra Tørkhuset, refers to the cultural environment at Okkenhaug's farm in Levanger, where the composer worked, and where Jakob Weidemann, among others, prepared his first solo exhibition. We invite you to an evening where the music, the history and the legacy of Paul Okkenhaug come to new life in dialogue with Weidemann's art in Steinkjer kirke. Programme: Paul Okkenhaug / Overture Paul Okkenhaug / Lyrical Dance Paul Okkenhaug / Folla Paul Okkenhaug / Sounds from Trøndelag Paul Okkenhaug / Spelet om Heilag Olav
