Description
This year's church festival days end with perhaps the most beautiful work that MiSK and Sandefjord kammerkor have ever staged. It is a first performance in Norway and a national event! Rebecca Dale's «Materna requiem» was written after the death of her mother, and it has a particular focus on the love between parents and children. This is expressed by her composing in melodies she made as a child, and by the work being written for no fewer than four soloists, two adult operatic voices, soprano and tenor, and two children's voices, a boy soprano and a girl soprano. - This is a deeply moving and beautiful work that reaches far, far into the depths of the heart. If there is one thing to catch this autumn, it is this year's closing concert with the composer herself present in the hall. Performers: an expanded Sandefjord kammerkor, Sassaya Chavalit (soprano), Bror Magnus Tødenes (tenor), Mikkel Bosrup Kvalbein Blyverket (boy soprano from Den Norske Operas barnekor), Camilla Øfsthus (girl soprano from Den Norske Operas barnekor), musicians from Ensemble Allegria and Kongelige norske marines musikkorps (Marinemusikken) and conductor Svein Rustad. Programme: Dale / Materna requiem
