Kongelige norske marines musikkorps
As one of the most visible bands in the Armed Forces, Marinemusikken carries out between 180 and 200 ceremonies, parades, large and small concerts and performances across eastern Norway every year.
The band undertakes assignments on behalf of the nation, the Royal House, the Government, the Storting and military units, including in connection with state visits, national anniversaries and official ceremonies in and outside the Armed Forces.
The band is a popular and entirely distinctive ensemble which, with its 27 professional musicians, gives concerts both in Norway and abroad. Marinemusikken won the Spellemann Prize in 2003 and has carried out tours and concert engagements in the USA, Vietnam, Russia, France, China and Spain. On several occasions the band has been in Afghanistan and played for Norwegian and foreign troops. The band has given concerts together with a number of musical greats in virtually every musical genre.

From being Horten's local military band, in recent years the band has made great strides and established itself as one of the leading wind ensembles in Norway.
