Description

Engegårdkvartetten joins forces once again with the acting legend Bjørn Sundquist. This artistic alliance - where gripping storytelling meets grand chamber music - builds towards the big celebration of the Beethoven anniversary in 2027. Henrik Ibsen's epic poem Terje Vigen - a story of war, hunger, sea and hope - is performed by one of Norway's most distinctive stage artists, Bjørn Sundquist. His reading carries the words with weight and presence - as if Ibsen himself were whispering them from the stage. After the reading Engegårdkvartetten performs Beethoven's String Quartet No. 15 in A minor, Op. 132 - a deeply personal work written after a serious illness, imbued with gratitude and inner strength. The music sounds like a postscript to Ibsen's words - a thoughtful journey onward in sound and silence. Welcome to an evening where words and music are woven together into an unforgettable whole.
