Wind over the Sea

Description

Sea, wind and the forces of nature are at the centre of this concert. Takemitsu's poetic How Slow the Wind opens with floating calm, before Hosokawa's Prayer - in its Nordic premiere - invites contemplation and reflection. Sibelius' atmospheric Oceanides leads on to Debussy's masterpiece La mer, a musical portrayal of the sea's shifting movements, light and forces.
