Oslo Domkor

Oslo Domkor is the main choir of Oslo Cathedral, and consists of about 35 highly skilled singers. The artistic director is Cathedral Cantor and professor Vivianne Sydnes. Oslo Domkor holds a special position in the cultural life of Norway and of the capital, and has a standby function for official Norway, with obligations to take part in public events such as the opening of the Storting, state funerals, and royal anniversaries and ceremonies. In total the choir takes part in around 80 concerts and events per year. Such a high level of activity places distinctive demands on the singers' skills, and the choir excels on this point. Oslo Domkor is described as a spearhead in the field of choral and church music. Photo: Tomas Stasevicius
