Operakoret
Operakoret (the Opera Chorus) is a professional choir, which today numbers 53 singers. They take part in the Norwegian National Opera's productions, but also give their own choral concerts and concerts together with the Opera Orchestra and other partners.
"The choir sings impressively" and "The choir proves its brilliant dramatic power". That is what Finnish reviewers wrote when the Norwegian National Opera visited the popular Finnish opera festival in Savonlinna in the summer of 2012, with performances of Den fjerde nattevakt and Peter Grimes. This is the choir that can go from a grand concert with the black metal band Satyricon to opera productions such as Le grand macabre, Orfeus og Evrydike and Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk.
The choir is led by chorus master Martin Wettges.
