Kilden Vokalensemble
Kilden Vokalensemble (formerly Kristiansand Solistensemble) has for more than ten years been the foremost ensemble for professional singers in Sørlandet. In recent years KVE has received financial support for its activities from Norsk Kulturråd. The ensemble is closely linked to Kilden Opera and Kristiansand Symfoniorkester.
KVE is an elite initiative and will always seek a position where the best singers on the market at any given time are attached to the ensemble.
HIGH ARTISTIC QUALITY
KVE presents vocal music of great stylistic breadth and high artistic quality. Since its start, the vocal ensemble has given a cappella concerts at an international level, taken part in opera productions with Kilden Opera, participated as an ensemble in musicals and sung at concerts together with Kristiansand Symfoniorkester.
The qualified singers help raise the quality level of the region's musical life by taking part in concert and performing arts productions, as well as initiating their own projects.
A RESOURCE FOR THE CHORAL COMMUNITY
Kilden Vokalensemble also has an ambition to be a resource for the choral community in Sørlandet by, among other things, taking part as teachers in projects to raise standards for amateur choirs. The singers are also a support in connection with the rehearsal of the larger choral works performed in collaboration with Kristiansand Symfoniorkester and the region's many amateur choirs.
KVE's conductor and artistic director is Marit Tøndel Bodsberg Weyde.
