Kulturfestivalen Peer Gynt is an annual festival at the beginning of August, which gathers audiences from all over the country for magnificent cultural experiences in the heart of Gudbrandsdalen. The festival springs from the meeting between the local legendary figure Per and Henrik Ibsen's world-famous Peer, and has from the start had a clear vision: We are going to shake you up.
Through concerts, theatre performances, dining experiences, award ceremonies and art exhibitions, the festival wishes to move, engage and give audiences memories that last. In 2026 the festival takes place 31 July-8 August, with Peer Gynt at Gålå as the main production.
