The Nutcracker

Description

The world-famous ballet The Nutcracker, performed by Ukrainian ballet stars, will be a magical Christmas experience for the whole family. The beautiful fairy tale of young Clara and the Nutcracker Prince was turned in 1892 into the world's most popular classical ballet by the composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Today The Nutcracker is a Christmas tradition all over the world and is staged every year in theatres and opera houses in a number of countries. Through the universal language of dance, the story is told of Clara, her dreams and the struggle between good and evil - a story in which love triumphs in the end. Dancing snowflakes, the Nutcracker Prince, toy soldiers and the Sugar Plum Fairy are brought to life in this magical family classic. On Christmas Eve Clara falls asleep and embarks on a fairy-tale journey. She meets her prince, fights an army of mice and rats and is led to the enchanting Kingdom of Sweets. But the story is more than a Christmas fairy tale. It is also about growing up, facing challenges and believing in your dreams. Let yourself be swept away into this magical world, leave the stress of everyday life behind and fill Christmas with wonder, warmth and inspiration. A fairy-tale experience for the whole family The Nutcracker is an ideal introduction to ballet for children. The story is easy to follow, while the music and dance create an experience that fascinates both young and old. The performance offers an atmospheric blend of fairy tale, beautiful costumes and classical ballet, and gives the audience a genuine feeling of Christmas. Ballet dancers at the highest international level The performance is based on Marius Petipa's classical choreography and is performed by Etoile Production, founded in Kyiv by the soloists Irina and Anatoly Khandazhevsky from Kharkiv Opera and Ballet Theatre. On stage you will meet professional ballet dancers at the highest international level - prizewinners from international competitions, acclaimed artists and soloists from Ukrainian and European ballet companies. Live string quartet on stage The production uses handmade costumes and high-quality set design. Together with carefully crafted lighting design, an atmospheric and elegant performance is created in which the art is at the centre. The performance is accompanied by a string quartet that plays live on stage during selected scenes. This gives a warm and intimate atmosphere and creates a close connection between the music and the dance. In addition, a high-quality recording of the orchestra of Kharkiv Opera is used, which together with the live music lifts the performance and underlines the action on stage. This is a rare opportunity to experience classical ballet at a high international level - with star dancers, beautiful costumes and live music. The performance has no age limits and the sound levels meet all recommendations for children. Ballet is ideal for children from 5 years and up, and is therefore recommended for this age group.
