Children's Opera: Cinderella
Description
An experience for the whole family in which classical music becomes lively, immediate and fun – created in a unique collaboration between Operaen i Midten and Ensemble MidtVest. In this very special version of Rossini's beloved fairy tale Cinderella, children and adults meet a colourful production full of music, singing, humour and surprises. Two singers and five musicians together create all the characters of the show, while the wind instruments are transformed into living characters with feelings, temperament and plenty of personality. The production was created by Operaen i Midten in co-production with Ensemble MidtVest, whose musicians take part on stage as an active part of the story. Here the music is not merely an accompaniment – it helps drive the action forward and opens the door to the wondrous world of opera. There are no dusty opera rules here. A prop can become a castle, a carriage or a prince in an instant, and the audience is invited into a world where curiosity, imagination and music go hand in hand. Rossini's sparkling music forms the framework for the story of Cinderella, who with courage, kindness and a little magic finds her own way in the world. The production is created especially for children aged 6-10 and offers a playful introduction to the enchanting world of opera. Duration: approx. 40 minutes Recommended age: 6-10 years
