Ensemble MidtVest
EMV plays chamber music of the highest artistic quality and delivers musical experiences that reach far beyond the edge of the stage.
We live in the tension between traditional chamber concerts and new, innovative formats, constantly exploring the many means of expression of chamber music, with the aim of making the last 500 years of classical repertoire, as well as free improvisation, present and relevant for a broad audience.
We play concerts locally, nationally and internationally, but first and foremost we serve audiences in the local area, where we ensure access to high-quality classical music and, through music, create frameworks for local communities and talent development.
EMV was established in 2002. Today we consist of 9 classical musicians who together make up a line-up of a string trio, a wind quintet and a pianist. We live day to day at HEART – Herning Museum of Contemporary Art, which houses both rehearsal rooms and a concert hall.
We are one of Denmark's core ensembles and are supported by the Danish Arts Foundation and the three municipalities of Herning, Holstebro and Struer.
