MOZART'S OBOE CONCERTO & BEETHOVEN

Description

Beethoven's 4th Symphony is often described as his brightest, most elegant and most humorous symphony – almost like a breathing space between the more dramatic works on either side. Charlotte Corderoy, who conducts this evening's concert, has just won a 2025 Critics’ Circle Award as Conductor of the Year, and she has also made her debut in front of the London Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonia Orchestra. Before the interval we will hear Mozart's Oboe Concerto with our own principal oboist, Simona Sindrestean, as soloist. The Oboe Concerto is a bright and elegant work full of virtuoso lightness, in which the oboe is allowed to shine both lyrically and playfully. Simona Sindrestean was born in Romania, trained in Romania, Paris and Weimar – and has since 2015 made her home with us in Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester. Programme: G. Rossini: Overture to The Barber of Seville W.A. Mozart: Oboe Concerto in C major L.v. Beethoven: Symphony No. 4 Duration: approx. 1 hour 30 min. incl. interval
