RAMA Classics: Orchestra in Parts - string concert

Description

At this concert we zoom in on the strings of the symphony orchestra. The woodwinds, brass and percussion have been given the day off, so that both musicians and audience can immerse themselves in the very special sounds that the strings can deliver. The concert is part of the festival “RAMA CLASSIC”. RAMA CLASSIC – orchestra in groups RAMA CLASSIC is a mini-festival at Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium that presents the different groups into which a classical symphony orchestra is divided. Three concerts on Friday and Saturday each present one group (strings, woodwinds and brass plus percussion), and a fourth concert on Saturday presents all the groups one after another in the same concert. The music is played by the conservatoire's students, under the direction of a teacher. Each concert is introduced by one of the conservatoire's regular teachers, all of whom are experienced orchestral musicians. At ordinary symphonic concerts and in the day-to-day rehearsal work of a symphony orchestra it can be difficult to tell the individual instruments and instrument groups apart. At the RAMA CLASSIC concerts the audience gets right up close to the orchestra's different sub-groups. And for the students, working in somewhat smaller groups sharpens the ability to listen to one another, to let the instruments blend in sound and to be flexible in ensemble playing. The concert is free, and you can simply turn up without a ticket. Come in good time.
