A FAIRYTALE CHRISTMAS

Description

Join us for an enchanting Christmas fairy tale as Odense Symfoniorkester, together with actors, a large children's choir and skilled dancers, bring Hans Christian Andersen's beloved stories to life with music, song and magic! In this year's family Christmas concert we meet the boy Kaj, who has lost his faith in fairy tales - and perhaps in Christmas too. One night Kaj is whirled into the storybook by a little nisse (Christmas elf), and soon he finds himself in a changed fairy-tale world where darkness is spreading, the stories are falling apart, and the Snow Queen threatens to freeze everything solid. To save both the fairy tales and himself, Kaj must find the missing dancer - and rediscover the joy of imagination and Christmas, so that he can safely come home to his family again. Along the way he meets Clumsy Hans, the Steadfast Tin Soldier, the Emperor's New Clothes, The Little Match Girl - and many more familiar characters from H.C. Andersen's fairy tales. The story is interwoven with a lot of newly written songs sung by skilled soloists and a large children's choir. A true Christmas tale for everyone who believes that we need fairy tales. The performance will be staged by 73 musicians, soloists, dancers and a fairy-tale nisse choir of 250 children.
