In 2027 The Savage Rose turns 60. Six decades after the beginning, Annisette and the band remain one of the most vital and innovative forces in Danish music. The anniversary is marked with a special edition of Copenhagen Phil's concert format 60 minutes, in which the music of The Savage Rose meets the sound world of the symphony orchestra in new arrangements created especially for the occasion. When The Savage Rose takes the stage together with Copenhagen Phil, it becomes an artistic meeting between two strong musical traditions. Both familiar songs and newer material are given room to unfold in new tonal landscapes, while the music's particular nerve, strength and presence are preserved. “When our music meets the symphony orchestra, new dimensions open up, taking both us and the audience on a musical journey through the stories and images in the music,” says Annisette The connection to classical music has been part of the band's DNA since the beginning. Thomas and Anders Koppel brought the classical tradition into a musical universe that also drew inspiration from rock, jazz, soul and folk music. In the encounter with Copenhagen Phil, this heritage is carried on in new symphonic interpretations. “In The Savage Rose we have never tied ourselves to one particular musical genre. We have always been driven by curiosity and a love of the music. That was also the case when we were asked to create the music for Flemming Flint's Dødens Triumf for Den Kongelige Ballet. It became a wonderful and popular new classic that is still alive today,” says Annisette.
