Copenhagen Phil - Hele Sjællands Symfoniorkester
Copenhagen Phil is a regional orchestra for all of Zealand, Lolland and Falster and a modern cultural institution that gives large symphonic concerts in the Concert Hall of the Conservatory in Frederiksberg. The orchestra travels around the whole Zealand region and gives concerts for both big and small.
Copenhagen Phil is committed to creating new auditory and visual expressions for the public, casting new perspectives on the symphony orchestra as an innovative cultural institution. Copenhagen Phil is thus an orchestra that plays on many strings and also offers, among other things, 60 minutes concerts, where rhythmic musicians pit themselves against the classical orchestra. In Open Orchestra, school classes and the adult audience are invited to walk around the orchestra while it plays, and in the concert performances Afgørende øjeblikke upper-secondary students and the classical audience can experience a dramatised concert in which a well-known Danish actor tells the story of the work being played – with a podcast by Third Ear and scenography by Dark Matters.
Copenhagen Phil works purposefully with music outreach and with projects for and with children and young people. This can be seen, among other things, in the concerts Musik Med Mere, where Zealand music school pupils are invited onto the stage, and in the primary school project Musik På Tværs, where 6000 children from all over Zealand are offered music lessons, meet ensembles from the orchestra at their schools and experience a large symphonic children's concert in the concert hall.
