Fauré's Requiem

Description

Great music needs a great choir. This year's concert with the region's upper secondary school choirs presents one of those works in which the beautiful voices of the choir break through even the hardest armour. For Fauré does not - like a number of other requiems - focus on the day of judgement and human inadequacy. Here death is not portrayed as something frightening, but as a gentle passage into rest. It is precisely this consoling tone that has made the work one of the most beloved and most performed requiems in concert halls and churches. Fauré's Requiem creates a mild and consoling musical space marked by calm and hope. Programme: Fauré / Requiem
