Slesvigske Musikkorps
Slesvigske Musikkorps is one of the Danish Defence's 3 full-time professional bands and consists of 16 musicians, brass players and percussionists respectively.
The band represents the Danish Defence at a wide range of events and concerts both at home and abroad. As the Defence's Musical Ambassador, the band takes part every year in more than 130 military and civilian events, including public concerts, military parades and national days of celebration.
Slesvigske Musikkorps is known for its great artistic breadth and musical depth. The versatility and the many refinements of the band are underlined by the string of soloists and conductors it works with.In December 2015 SMUK carried out a concert tour to Washington and Chicago, where in Washington SMUK performed together with the US Marine Band - known colloquially as "The President's Own".
The band is based daily at Slesvigske Musikhus in Haderslev.
