Welcome to a splendid and festive anniversary season at Nyborg Slotskoncerter!
This summer Nyborg Slotskoncerter celebrates its 40th anniversary. For 40 years Nyborg Slotskoncerter has organised summer concerts at a high artistic level, to the delight of the people of Nyborg and everyone else who has dropped by.
With the support of Nyborg Kommune and numerous local partners, Nyborg Slotskoncerter remains active and alive, and this summer too we open our doors to 6 varied concerts with outstanding musicians.
The anniversary season begins on 25 June, when Marselissolisterne play a festive promenade concert with plenty of familiar tunes. They are joined by the talented opera singer Signe Asmussen.
Sunday 9 July is dedicated to string quartets. The Aarhus quartet Artos plays, among other things, Brahms's String Quartet No. 1 in C minor. The concert also offers a return to Mette Nielsen's string quartet “Apart”, which she composed as a commissioned work for Nyborg Slotskoncerter in 2021.
“Jazz so it swings” is the title of the concert on 23 July, where Bjarke Falgren's jazz quartet provides the music, and on 6 August we will hear Kvintet Nordvind, a wind quintet of young musicians. The quintet took part in DR P2's Chamber Music Competition in 2020, and in Nyborg they play, among other things, Carl Nielsen's famous wind quintet.
On 20 August we will hear music for piano, violin and cello, when Momentum Klavertrio with Rikke Sandberg at the piano pays a visit. DR P2 is coming to Nyborg and will record the concert. We are proud of that. It is good to be part of putting Nyborg on the classical music map of Denmark.
And then we close the season on 3 September with a bang of a merry opera performance. The opera troupe Nontardar with Jacob Beck at the piano performs Mozart's "Cosi fan Tutte" as a folk comedy and with Danish text. The troupe consists of some of the most skilled Danish opera singers, and there is no doubt that it will be a very festive end to a lovely season.
We would like to put in a good word for our youth tickets aimed at audiences under 25. Do bring your young people along to a concert. It is a gift to get to know classical music, and it is always an experience to hear “live” music.
From Nyborg Slotskoncerter, a big thank you goes to Nyborg Kirke, Hotel Nyborg Strand and Bastionen for collaborating with us on our concerts. It means a great deal to us that we can continue the tradition of the lovely summer concerts, until one day we can again return to the beautiful surroundings of Nyborg Slot.
A big thank you to Nyborg Kommune, our sponsors, our local partners, - and not least our audience.
Welcome to the 40th anniversary season 2023!
