Gudhjem Kirke

Gudhjem Church, situated in Gudhjem on Bornholm, was designed by Professor Mathias Bidstrup and consecrated on 3 September 1893. The church is built of granite ashlar, and the nave, tower and apse all have slate roofs. The church was built quite close to St Anna's chapel from the 1200s, which is now a ruin in the churchyard. The altarpiece is from an earlier church in the town and is a three-winged, late Gothic cabinet altarpiece dating from c. 1475. The central panel is a relief of the Virgin Mary's deathbed, where she is surrounded by the twelve apostles.
