We are showing the much-loved Christmas classic Home Alone on the big screen, while John Williams’ charming and sparkling music is performed live by Stavanger Symfoniorkester. Macaulay Culkin plays Kevin McCallister, an eight-year-old boy who is accidentally left behind at home when the family goes off on a Christmas holiday – and who has to defend his house against two incompetent burglars. Both heartwarming and genuinely funny, Home Alone offers Christmas entertainment for the whole family. The film is shown in the original language, with Norwegian subtitles. The composer John Williams has received five Oscars and 54 Oscar‑nominations (the second most in the history of the award), seven BAFTA awards, 27 Grammy awards, four Golden Globes and five Emmy awards. He has composed music for more than 100 films, including the main themes used throughout the Harry Potter films. Williams has written the music for all nine Star Wars films, as well as Superman, Memoirs of a Geisha and The Book Thief. His 45-year collaboration with Steven Spielberg has resulted in many of Hollywood’s most acclaimed films, including Schindler’s List, E.T., Jurassic Park, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the Indiana Jones films, Saving Private Ryan, Lincoln and The Post.
