The Nutcracker - Classical Ballet with String Quartet

Description

A magical pre-Christmas experience for the whole family The world-famous ballet The Nutcracker is performed by Ukrainian ballet stars - an atmospheric Christmas gift that will delight young and old alike. Based on E.T.A. Hoffmann's fairytale about Clara and the Nutcracker, and with music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, this classic has since 1892 become one of the world's best-loved ballets. Today The Nutcracker is a fixed Christmas tradition on theatre and opera stages all over the world. The audience is taken into an enchanting story about childhood, dreams and the struggle between good and evil - in which love triumphs in the end. Dancing snowflakes, toy soldiers, the Mouse King and the Sugar Plum Fairy are brought to life in a visual and musical experience filled with magic and imagination. A perfect first ballet The Nutcracker is an ideal performance for children and first-time visitors. At the same time it offers great artistic quality that will also delight adults. Artistic quality at every level The performance is based on Marius Petipa's classical choreography and is performed by Etoile Production - founded by soloists from the Kharkiv Opera and Ballet Theatre in Ukraine. The performers are prize-winning dancers from some of Europe's leading companies. Musical accompaniment with both a live string quartet and an orchestral recording. The live string quartet on stage creates a special closeness and gives the performance a warm and intimate Christmas atmosphere. Programme: Tchaikovsky / The Nutcracker
