Description
The Barber of Seville is one of the most comic stories in the world of opera - a musical comedy full of complications, infatuation and cunning plans. We meet the charming barber Figaro, who with quick-witted lines and even quicker solutions helps the young Count Almaviva win the heart of the beautiful Rosina. The pace is high, the melodies are immortal, and laughter comes easily as disguises, misunderstandings and secret arrangements become entangled. This is opera at its most playful - elegant, energetic and irresistibly entertaining. The opera has been an audience favourite ever since its premiere at the beginning of the 1800s, and now gets a completely new twist as the comedian, actor, TV personality and director Vidar Magnussen leads the story into his burlesque and, not least, humorous world. The audience is served poetic slapstick inspired by, among others, the silent film hero Buster Keaton. At the same time, the production in 2027 will be true to the original story. The story is sung in Norwegian, and we can promise that this will be both beautiful and funny!
