Arktisk Filharmoni

Go to website
North of the Arctic Circle you will find the world's youngest and northernmost professional orchestral institution. Since its founding in 2009 the organisation has become one of Northern Norway's largest and most active cultural institutions. Every year the orchestra stages about 200 performances and concerts. The orchestra's musicians alternate between different ensemble formats on a regular basis, which means that over the course of a season you can experience everything from smaller chamber groups via sinfonietta and chamber orchestra to full symphony orchestra and opera productions. Arktisk Filharmoni regularly commissions newly written works and focuses on having a high number of performances and recordings. We collaborate with Northern Norwegian bands and artists from other musical genres, including jazz, pop, folk music and joik – in an attempt to strengthen the profile of the region's musical life, nationally and internationally. If you want to see orchestral life from the inside, you can follow us on Instagram as @arcticphilharmonic. Every week we also post concert recordings on our YouTube channel, so keep an eye out there too: youtube.com/arcticphilharmonic Photo: Rune Stolz Bertinussen
