Hærens musikkorps
Hærens musikkorps is based in Harstad, 30 Norwegian miles (mil) north of the Arctic Circle. It is the oldest professional wind band in this part of the country, with a history going back to 1911. The wind band consists of 29 professional musicians and gives concerts in several genres: from early classical to more recent music, pop, jazz and rock. The orchestra is known for its brilliant performances at festivals, concert halls and other venues. The band is a bearer of culture for both the Armed Forces and civil society. We find them both in Norway and on international stages.
Musical versatility is and has long been a keyword, and the band has striven to maintain a broad musical profile, always with high artistic quality.
For both the Armed Forces and the civilian audience it is essential that Hærens musikkorps carries out assignments for all types of events and purposes in the northern part of the country.
