Västerås Sinfonietta
Since 1883 Västerås Sinfonietta has offered music and traditions. On its home stage at Västerås Konserthus the orchestra, 33 musicians strong, plays for its audience in, among other things, two subscription series, lunch and coffee concerts, Christmas concerts and a rich offering for children and young people.
We believe in variety, tradition and innovation. That means you get to meet the classical masters as well as today's new stars, such as the orchestra's composer-in-residence.
Västerås Sinfonietta has been noted for several CDs. “The Nordan Suite”, together with Ale Möller, Hans Ek and Lena Willemark, won the prize in the category Årets Utgåva at the Folk- och världsmusikgalan 2015. The Sinfonietta won, together with Helsingborgs Symfoniorkester, Grammis 17 in the category “Årets klassiska” for the CD Mats Larsson Gothe: Symphony N0. 2.
