Programme Béla Bartók: ‘Out of Doors’ Joseph Haydn: Sonata in D major, Hob.XVI:42 Frédéric Chopin: Polonaise Fantasie Op. 61 Franz Schubert: 4 Impromptus Op. 142 Igor Stravinsky: Suite from ‘The Firebird’ (transcribed by Guido Agosti) At this concert we welcome Takuma Onodera, a young Japanese pianist who won 2nd prize at the Aarhus International Piano Competition 2025. Takuma Onodera (born in 2005 in Sapporo, Japan) began playing the piano at the age of 5. He has won a long list of prizes in international music competitions, including in Germany, Spain and Russia. He made a most favourable impression as 2nd prize winner at the Aarhus International Piano Competition in 2025. Takuma has given concerts in a number of the largest Japanese cities as well as in Budapest and indeed even in Carnegie Hall itself in New York. He has released two CDs: “’Appassionato’”’ for KNS Classical in 2021) and ‘Start!’ for Octavia Records in 2022). Since April 2024 Takuma has studied with Professor Matthias Kirschnereit at Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Rostock, Germany.
