Carl Nielsen's Christmas - Concert with Aarhus Kammerorkester

Description

Get into the Christmas spirit with Aarhus Kammerorkester as we invite you to a concert full of beautiful melodies, community singing and the music of Carl Nielsen. We begin with Carl Nielsen's Flute Concerto, which turns 100 in 2026, and move slowly towards Christmas through a series of his Christmas songs: Mit hjerte altid vanker, Min Jesus, lad mit hjerte få, Hjemlige jul, stråler du nu! and Kom jul, til jord, kom høje gæst. All four songs are performed in brand-new orchestral versions, created for this concert. Along the way the orchestra strikes up for community singing of selected Christmas songs. Magnus Plejdrup ties the concert together with short stories about Carl Nielsen's life and music. The concert is supported by Carl Nielsen Legatet.
