Aarhus Kammerorkester
Aarhus Kammerorkester is a professional, medium-sized ensemble based in Aarhus, made up almost entirely of the city's leading musicians aged 18-40.
Aarhus Kammerorkester was created in 2018 under the name ‘Ensemble Pluma’, but changed its name to Aarhus Kammerorkester in September 2023.
The orchestra has played over 40 concerts throughout Denmark, given the first performance of more than 20 works by living composers and played a number of Danish premieres of works written by international composers.
Aarhus Kammerorkester's vision is to create congenial communities through classical music, and to be the city's ambassadors in spreading classical music to new audiences.
The orchestra is led by conductor and composer Magnus Plejdrup and by conductor and singer Johanne Sofie Bech Madsen.
