Description

2027 marks 200 years since Beethoven died, and you are going to hear it! We celebrate his groundbreaking music throughout 2027, and why not begin with one of his absolute greatest strokes of genius: Symphony No. 3, nicknamed the Eroica. With its power, length and emotional depth, the symphony marks a turning point in music history. Here Beethoven opens the door to the Romantic era with heroic, intense and deeply human music. From the forceful opening motif to the triumphant finale, the Eroica is a journey through struggle, grief and transformation - one of those works that have left their mark on history as well as on many people's lives. The concert also features Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the young pianist Eva Gevorgyan at the grand piano. It is rare to meet a musician who aims for the stars as she does. She has won a host of prizes, and in the 2025/26 season she makes her debut with Göttinger Symphonieorchester, Brussels Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony and Auckland Symphony Orchestra. “Beethoven's Eroica is a classic of the very greatest kind - full of life and vitality. The horn parts in the symphony are brilliantly written, and as a horn player it is a symphony you look forward to playing - every single time.” Jeppe Solløs Rasmussen, horn Duration: approx. 2 hours incl. interval Programme: J. Lopez: Fiesta F. Liszt: Piano Concerto No. 2 L.v. Beethoven: Symphony No. 3, Eroica
