Description
Meet the pupils of the Royal Danish Theatre's Ballet School as Frede Stær and his friends create an utterly fantastic performance on the Old Stage. Frede Stærs drømmeteater (Frede Stær's Dream Theatre) is an enchanting ballet story for and with children. At the centre of it all we meet the entertainer bird Frede Stær, who has set out to present a magnificent show in which all the theatre's art forms take part. But instead of applause he is met by a frightening, empty stage. The curtain has come down, and Frede is left alone in the dark. In his brave attempt to manage everything on his own, Frede steps into a new and unknown world. Here he is confronted with trials that test his abilities as a friend and his understanding of how important it is to help one another. With the support of a flock of new theatre friends - the splendid bird Tyty Klausen, the temperamental bird Donna Pavone, the expressive bird Pip Ipsen and the atmospheric bird Kajsa Grande - Frede succeeds with his dream theatre and realises that the performing arts flourish best out of community. Frede Stærs drømmeteater is danced by pupils from the Royal Danish Theatre's Ballet School, and it is the soloist Tobias Praetorius who, to Phillip Faber's newly composed music, has created this fine story about friendship and the power and magic of art.
