Description
Be intoxicated by the deepest emotions of darkness in Tchaikovsky - and experience the catharsis in the gloom of night in Bent Sørensen's obsidian-black piano universe. “When we go on tour, something special happens. Being together for several days in a row creates a feeling of community, and the close contact means that we listen more to each other and ultimately play better together. I am looking forward to going on tour with my colleagues in Aarhus Symfoniorkester!” - Eva Paulin, viola Bent Sørensen's piano concerto La Mattina is full of mysterious dark nocturnal notes and fine glassy sounds. The music is at once pure and complex - ”the deepest and darkest thing I have ever written,” says Bent Sørensen. A passionate symphony, full of passion: Tchaikovsky poured his whole soul into his ”Pathetique” symphony. It ”starts with an exclamation and ends with a gasp,” said Schönberg of the symphony. The concert also offers a repeat of yesterday's world premiere: the Swedish composer Rolf Martinsson has written a fanfare for Aarhus Symfoniorkester, marking the beginning of a series of unique commissioned works that can only be experienced live at Aarhus Symfoniorkester.
