Description
Let the Christmas spirit settle with the beauty of music as Handel's iconic tones flow through Symfonisk Sal. “For me, Messiah is a meditation on vulnerability, hope and renewal. Conducting the work is an invitation to listen attentively - not only to the music, but to what it demands of us as human beings.” – Dmitry Matvienko The Christmas tradition above all Christmas traditions: Handel's Messiah. Experience one of the greatest stories of the Western world set to the most unforgettable tones in music history - from the Hallelujah chorus to the soloists' beautiful arias and the choir's hymns. “I thought I saw all of Heaven before me, and the great God himself,” the composer said after writing the Hallelujah chorus. The work has long been on our chief conductor Dmitry Matvienko's wish list - and now he finally gets his (Christmas) wish fulfilled. The concerts are supported by Knud Højgaards Fond Programme: Georg Friedrich Händel: Messiah
