Den Fynske Opera
Den Fynske Opera saw the light of day with a successful staging of La Bohème in 1948. The opera company lies in the middle of Denmark – and in a way also in the middle of the genre; on the one hand, Den Fynske Opera sees it as its task to produce new operas and develop the genre. On the other hand, Den Fynske Opera places great emphasis on being a welcoming cultural institution.
It should be easy to go to the opera – and much of the repertoire is also at the somewhat lighter end. It is in the intersection between the new and challenging and the familiar and "light" that Den Fynske Opera lives and breathes.
That is why the opera's slogan is "come closer". The audience should experience this everywhere – in the performances, in the coffee bar and on stage. Then we hope that our guests, like ourselves, are all the time becoming a little braver and ready for the next new production.
