Rachmaninoff & Stravinsky

Description

Two masterpieces fill the concert hall with virtuosity and colourful orchestral splendour tonight. Rachmaninoff's third piano concerto is one of the most demanding and grandest works in the repertoire. After the interval we meet Stravinsky's Petrushka, the lively and rhythmic ballet about the tragic puppet Petrushka. With sparkling orchestral colours and driving energy, the work is regarded as one of the most groundbreaking orchestral works of the 1900s. Programme: Sergei Rachmaninoff: Concerto for Piano No. 3 Igor Stravinsky: Petrushka Performers: Alpesh Chauhan, conductor Jaeden Izik-Dzurko, piano Free work introduction: Inn i musikken in the VIP room at 18:00
