NyNorsk Messingkvintett

Go to website
NyNorsk Messingkvintett wants to convey strong stories to a broad audience by combining contemporary music with literature and performing arts. Through collaboration with the author Kjartan Fløgstad, countertenor Sean Bell, organist Anders Eidsten Dahl, actor and vocalist Ivar Nergaard and mezzo-soprano Tora Augestad, they have created an expression that goes far beyond the usual soundscape of brass instruments. In a short time (since 2015) the ensemble has given the first performances of 22 works by, among others, Marcus Paus, Therese B. Ulvo, Ørjan Matre and Nils Henrik Asheim. NyNorsk Messingkvintett consists of Erlend Aagaard-Nilsen, trumpeter in Kringkastingsorkesteret, and Jørgen Arnesen, Marie Solum Gran, Berger Iver Færder and Ingebjørg Bruket, all very active freelance musicians.
